Essex Handfasting’s offer a unique, tailor-made wedding ceremony officiated by husband and wife team John & Juliet Banks. John has 14 years’ experience of being a Celebrant and was short listed in the finals of a UK wide “Celebrant of the Year” award. Both John & Juliet are also professional actors and have reduced many audiences to tears of laughter taking on the roles of iconic British comedy characters over the years. To say they can “work a crowd” is an understatement! Juliet in particular has been accredited with being "more Sybil than Sybil" in many Fawlty Towers shows both in the UK and abroad over the years! Your Handfasting would begin with your walk “down the aisle” to whatever music you wish. The service begins with a brief history of Handfasting’s to set the scene before moving on to “your story”. This is where the story of how you met, your first impressions of each other and how your relationship has developed gets told. This is the part where most of the humour lies!!!!! Then it’s time to “get these guys married!”. Vows, that can be tailored to each of you, are now exchanged. Bridesmaids, Best Men, your children or even greatly loved pets can now get involved to bring forward the cords before the you are tied together. Rings can also be brought forward before the service ends with “I now pronounce you “man and wife” or “wife and wife” or “husband and husband!”
